How to set up your site

These steps should be the very first things to do when your site is set up. These tasks must be completed by someone with the Site Manager Role.

  1. Create a Landing Page to use as your Homepage. Use the name of your agency as the page title.
  2. Update the Drupal Site Settings page. This includes:
    1. Name your site. This name will appear at the top of all pages in the header and will likely be the name of your agency.
    2. Set the Homepage. Drupal refers to your homepage as the Front Page. Type the name of the newly created Landing page in the Front Page text field.
    3. Set your agency’s address, phone number and/or social media links. These will appear in the footer.
    4. Optionally set the Affiliation. Use this if your website is part of a larger organization. This should follow the format “An official website of the <Agency Name>”. For example, the Affiliation for this website states “An official website of the Department of Information Technology”.
    5. NEW! Set the Homepage hero style. You can use a standard smaller image or a full-width background image with a left, right, or middle-aligned box on top. Select the specific image you'd like to display on the Landing Page you set as the Front Page. Full-width images must be at least 2800px wide to avoid blurring.
