How to use a Data Table

A Data Table shows numeric or other tabular data with search, filters, and sorting.

• Upload a .csv, .xlsx or .ods spreadsheet when creating a Data Table.
• Use on a Basic Page, Landing Page, Contact, Location, News, or Event.
• Link data to other websites, email addresses, or phone numbers.

Limitations

• A Data Table shows exactly what is included in the uploaded file. Column headings and data can't be edited once uploaded.
• To add, delete or make changes to the data, a fresh spreadsheet must be reuploaded.
• The Data Table does not "clean" the data. Any typos or similar data (ex. "Workshop" vs. "Workshops") will show as separate values in a filter.

Required fields

1. Title 

The Title describes the table’s content and provides context. The Title does not show on page.

2. File

Upload a .csv, .xlsx or .ods spreadsheet.

Optional fields

1. Caption

The caption appears above the table.

2. Data table settings

Include a link to export table as CSV shows a link above the table for visitors to export the results. If a visitor has filtered the table, the export will only include the filtered results.

3. Display options

• Column / Include: Select which columns you'd like to show in the Data table. 
• Display: 
  • Plain text.
  • Linked. Use for columns with emails or phone numbers.
  • Linked to... Use to link to a column in your spreadsheet that has a URL.
• Filter adds that column as a filter above the table.

When to consider something else

If there isn't a need to filter and search, consider using a regular table.
