About the Media library

All images, videos and documents (PDFs, Microsoft Word, and other files) are stored in your site’s Media Library. Access the Media Library by clicking the Media link on the far left side of the screen when you are logged into Drupal.

Use the Media Library to:

  • Add an image, video or document

  • Edit the name, description or other info for any images, video or documents

  • Replace the uploaded file with a new one

    • Example: A new version of a report is published or a staff member gets a new headshot. Changing any of this information will automatically update across your site anywhere that image, video or document is used.

Images and Photography

Customize your site with images and photography using many of the Page Components and Page Types included in the Maryland Drupal CMS.

Using images on your site is a great way to express your agency’s goals, values, and messaging. Select images that support and add value to the goal of the page. Specific and high quality images enhance content. Generic or low resolution images distract from content.

Tips:

  • Use jpg, jpeg, png, gif,or webp image formats.
  • Upload an image no larger than 100 MB.
  • Choose the focal point of an image after uploading. Drupal will crop an image to the proper dimensions for each component. Setting a focal point will ensure that the most important part of an image is always shown, no matter where it’s used.
  • Include an optional caption or credit.
