What is a Component?
The Maryland Drupal CMS is designed with flexibility in mind. Your website can be customized to meet your specific agency’s needs using Components.
Components are building blocks for the Drupal CMS. They are flexible widgets that can be added to a page, each with a unique design and features.
Benefits of Components
- Can be placed in any order
- Highly flexible with variations in both design and functionality
- Can be reused from page to page, so that content that is repeated can be edited in just one place
Page Components for headings and text
Use these Page Components to display headings, paragraphs, and other text content.

Text EditorThe Text Editor displays a section of text, bullets, images and other text content.

AccordionAn Accordion is a list of headers that hide or reveal additional content when selected.

As the Maryland Drupal CMS continues to be built, more Page Components will be added for you to use. The following will be released in the coming months.
Icon List
An Icon List displays a manually-created list of related items with icons.
Automatic List
An Automatic List displays a list of related items. When adding the Automatic List to a page, you choose which types of pages will automatically show. The automatic list is used to show lists of news, events and people. When new content is published, the automatic list is automatically updated.
Statistic
A Statistic highlights rankings, percentages or other numerical data.
Step List
A Step List displays instructions on how to complete a task or access a benefit or service.
