What is content?

Content generally refers to the words, images, video and other information that is included on your website. In the context of Drupal, content is the Page Types and Page Components on your site. The Maryland Drupal CMS provides the following content:

Use the Content Page to browse any pages or page components created on your website.

Step 1: Choose the content

Method 1: Use the Content Page

Click Content in the Drupal menu on the left side of the screen.

Click the blue Add content button near the top of the page.

Choose the Content you want to create from the list. Micro-content is another name for Page Components.

Method 2: Use the Create Button

In the Drupal menu, hover over the Create button. Select your desired page type or page component from the menu.

Step 2: Add details 

Fill out all the necessary information for the Page Type or Page Component.

Complete any required fields marked, with a red asterisk.

Complete any additional optional fields, as needed.

Step 3: Save as a draft or save and publish

Click the Save button at the bottom of the screen. 

If you want to publish the Page or Component, select “Published” in the Save As dropdown menu. Then click the Save button.

Tips: 

  • When a page is published, anyone that has the page URL can see the page content.
  • Pages that are not published can only be seen by people who are logged into Drupal CMS.
